Student Campus Representatives

Last year OHEIB has opted to initiate a Student Campus Representative Program. The Student Campus Representatives are given a one year membership in OHEIB and are invited as our guests to all the meetings throughout the year.

Here are our Student Campus Reps for the 2008/09 year:

From Ryerson

Sara Santianni is entering her second year in the Nutrition and Food Program and plans to complete Ryerson's graduate program in Nutrition Communication. Sara volunteers her time at various industry related events whenever possible and has a strong desire to improve the health literacy of Canadians through nutrition communication. Sara is also passionate about physical fitness and works part-time at the YMCA as a personal trainer and Pilates instructor.

From Guelph

Co-rep Kaitlynn Deacon is entering her third year at the University of Guelph, in the Applied Human Nutrition program. She has volunteered at various elementary schools to assist with the milk program, and lunch room supervision. She is interested in the labeling of foods, and the marketing aspect of the food industry.

From Guelph

Co-rep Amanda Li is entering her third year in the Applied Human Nutrition Program at the University of Guelph. She has a passion for food, nutrition and helping others achieve a state of well-being. Amanda is hoping to pursue a career in food product development in the future as well as doing some research work in the area of Diabetes. This summer she is keeping herself busy with a job as a Food Service Representative at Credit Valley Hospital and as a cooking assistant for Loblaws. She is also volunteering with a Diabetes Prevention Program for schizophrenic patients and at the Guelph Food Technology Centre. As if two jobs and volunteering were not enough, she is also taking a summer course.
