MEMBERSHIP REQUIRMENTS

While we encourage membership in Ontario Home Economics Association (OHEA), it is not a pre-requisite.

CLASSES OF MEMBERSHIP

Active Members

Active Members shall be individuals who, at the time of application or payment of annual fees are:

qualified to work as Home Economists by virtue of their educational background or professional experience,
now active in a Home Economics capacity with a business, or an association supported by business, or with government whereby s/he interprets products or services to the consumer, and/or are engaged in one or more of the following: advertising, sales promotion or marketing, media (print, radio, television), public relations, consumer relations, resource management, product testing and development, freelance or consultant services, owner of business.

Emeritus Members

Emeritus Members shall be members who have been Active Members of the Association of Ontario Home Economists In Business for 20 years or longer and who are no longer professionally employed.

Student Members

Student Members shall be individuals who are enrolled in a full-time graduate or undergraduate program in Home Economics, Human Ecology or Consumer Studies at a recognized university. Student status may be extended for one year beyond graduation.

FEES

Membership year is April 1 to March 31.

Active Members: $45.00
Emeritus Members: $35.00
Student Members: $10.00
